St Alexei Russian orthodox memorial church in Leipzig
The St Alexei Russian memorial church opened in 1913 at 18th october together with the Battle of Leipzig monument. The Russian orthodox church is a memory for the 127 thousand russian soldiers were fighting at the side of Germans, and more than 22000 fallen of them.

Today it’s the unified orthodox community of the Russian, Ukrainian, white Russian, Bulgarian and German believers. They’re praying together in the rooms of the church, helping eachothers and the needies.

Liturgies for the orthodox Christians take place on every Sunday and feast days at 10am in Russian and German languages.
As historical and cultural monument, the memorial church’s available for the Leipzigers and tourists every day from 10am to 17pm (winters 16pm).
